April 19-25 is volunteer recognition week and we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you!!

Your hard work makes all of our programs and events possible, from weekly garden club meetings to our annual gala, to school-wide celebrations like Harvest Fest, Talent Show, Cultural Heights, and beyond.

We can't wait to celebrate YOU at our end-of-year PTA meeting + volunteer appreciation breakfast, coming up on May 21st.

Belonging Week & Upcoming Assemblies

DMH kicks off Belonging Week with an inspirational visit from Jesse Billauer at an assembly Monday, 4/20!

At age 17, a surfing accident rendered Jesse paraplegic and ended his successful pro career. He remained positive and committed to his passion, founding Life Rolls On, an organization that takes disabled people surfing.

Learn more about Jesse in this short video.

We've got another fun assembly in store later this spring with The Imagination Machine!

Deborah Wren founded the organization in 1981 while working simultaneously as a classroom teacher and actress.

She developed The Imagination Machine in order to foster children's creativity before they started censoring themselves in terms of "good" or "bad" writing. Through the program, students see their own stories come to life on stage!

Don't miss our last SciFri of the year...

RSVP to attend

Enjoy a fun afternoon in the sun helping us care for our local 25th Street Beach. Bring sunscreen, hats, and water; we'll provide gloves, bags, and trash pickers.

Everyone is invited -- the more the merrier!
