Heights Cares Student Charity Fundraiser

Several of our DMH students nominated some incredible charities for this year's student-led fundraiser!

🌟 Sadie Hunt (Mrs. Vietro’s class) nominated Do Cancer, a Rancho Santa Fe–based organization supporting newly diagnosed cancer patients.

🌟 Lauren Langelin (Mrs. Spetter’s class) nominated Breakthrough T1D, a national organization with a local Southern California chapter focused on Type 1 Diabetes research and patient support.

🌟 Tommy Alvarez (Mrs. Spetter’s class) nominated Camp Hope California, a statewide charity with a San Diego chapter that helps children cope with grief after the loss of a loved one.

After thoughtful review, our panel selected Tommy Alvarez and Camp Hope California as this year’s winning charity! Congratulations, Tommy—and thank you to all our students for showing compassion, leadership, and care for their community.

Parents, please take a moment to check out the other amazing charities too— every bit of support helps make a difference!

Donation jars will be in your students' classrooms through November 21st.

It's time for our annual Halloweencandygive back! Your kids' teeth and our troops thank you in advance for your generosity.

Shout out to Dr. Eric Dixon's dental practice for donating $1/pound of candy collected plus $500 to the top earning school in our district.

Love this idea? Help us out by volunteering for 30 minutes before school -- we still have a couple of spots to fill.

Calling all 4th-6th graders

The Science Olympiad Club (new to the Heights this year) is looking for any 4th-6th graders interested in joining their classmates for the Division A tournament at Mira Mesa College on Saturday 2/7.

If your student is interested in learning more about science in a fun and supportive way, meetings are in the MUR every other Wednesday from 5-6pm

Join us for either of our next practices 10/29 and 11/5!
